Chris is a dedicated member of the Chico Area Recreation and Park District
(CARD) Board, working to expand recreational opportunities, improve neighborhood
parks, and responsibly plan for Chico’s growing community.
During his 4 years on the Board, Chris has helped advance major projects, including the
Chico Aquatics and Recreation Center and Chico Bike Park, both scheduled to open
near the end of 2026. He has also supported the development of Henshaw
Neighborhood Park, the acquisition of Depot Park, and the transfer of additional parks
from the City of Chico to CARD.
Chris’s record includes supporting improvements to the DeGarmo Softball Fields and
Golf Complex, resurfacing basketball courts at Hooker Oak and Rotary parks, installing
covered bocce courts at Community Park, and helping preserve the Chico Observatory
through a lease agreement. He also supported naming the Hooker Oak softball field in
honor of the Chico Peppers.
Chris has championed community partnerships and programs that bring people
together. These efforts include CARD’s partnership with the City of Chico and the
Downtown Chico Business Association to establish and continue the Downtown Ice
Rink.
Chris is running to continue delivering high-quality parks, facilities, and recreational
programs for Chico residents of every age.
